The Dictionary of Demography
Given the importance of demographic knowledge and the need for a demographic dictionary, on the one hand, to standardize and harmonize demographic terms, and the lack of a complete demographic dictionary and encyclopedia in the country, on the other hand, the SRTC decided to form a demographic encyclopedia council through which publish the " The Dictionary of Demography" for the use of demographers and specialists in fields related to population. The Dictionary of Demography is based on The Dictionary of Demography, written by Roland Pressat and the editor in chief is Christopher Wilson and published in 1985 by the Basil Blackwell Publishing House in the United States. The Dictionary of Demography in Persian, along with a two-way glossary with the great efforts and cooperation of prominent professors and experts in the field of social sciences, demography, and statistics under the title of "Demographic Encyclopedia Council" composed of Dr. Habib ollahe Zanjani, Dr. Seyed Mohammad Mirzaei, Mohammad Hossein Nejatiyan, Dr. Ahmad Ketabi, Dr. Hossein Mahmoudian, Dr. Hassan Sarai, Dr. Seyed Reza Moeini, Alireza Zahedian, Dr. Seyed Mahmoud Ghazi Tabatabai, Taha Noorollahi and Dr. Zahra Rezaei Ghahroudi started their work in the SRTC in 2012 and until the spring of 2016, once every two weeks, it had regular working sessions lasting several hours. The Demographic Encyclopedia Council first determined the appropriate Persian input for all entries in the dictionary by studying the contents of the book and reviewing related articles and books. After determining the appropriate Persian input for each of the terms, the compilation of "The Dictionary of Demography" has been set up in more detail. These sessions lasted up to 80 sessions during 4 years of continuous work. The draft translation of the book has been prepared with the efforts of Mr. Mohammad Hossein Nejatian
