The SRTC, according to its mission to promote the statistical knowledge of society, in addition to conducting research projects and writing books, has chosen the translation and publication of authoritative foreign sources as a policy and a suitable way to be updated on the world knowledge. The translation of the present book is one of the measures that have been included in the agenda of the SRTC to implement this policy, and it is hoped that it will be useful for researchers and students in the field of statistics and related fields. The rapid development and spread of new computing techniques and, at the same time, the rapid development of information and communication technology have had a positive impact on the science of statistics, which requires complex computations and rapid data processing. On the other hand, many computer processes are based on "statistical" knowledge in the form of relationships and mathematical formulas. Therefore, awareness of these relationships, in addition to helping computer users to understand how these methods work, will also lead them to develop computational statistics methods. The present book contains most of the material needed to understand the topics of computational statistics and tries to enable readers to use new statistical methods. This book is organized into three main parts: "optimization, integration, smoothing". The translation of the present book has been done by Dr. Mohammad Reza Meshkani, that hereby his efforts are thanked and appreciated.
