Sampling Theory and Methods
Due to its mission in promoting the statistical knowledge of the society, in addition to conducting research projects and writing books, the SRTC has chosen the translation and publication of authoritative foreign sources as a policy and a suitable way to be updated on the world knowledge. The translation of this book is one of the measures that have been taken by the SRTC to implement this policy, and it is hoped that it will be useful for researchers and students in the field of statistics and related fields. The topic of sampling is one of the statistical topics that have wide practice nowadays. Sampling is used in almost every field where it is not possible to access the whole information, or to obtain information about all of them is not cost-effective. Thus, sampling theory is used in all fields of science. Since for any sampling design, it is necessary to define the appropriate sampling plan based on its purpose and obtain the appropriate estimators for it, this book can rightly help the reader in this regard. Although many books on sampling methods have been published in Persian and English, yet the existing books have been less able to meet the satisfaction and needs of the audience. However, it seems that the book " Sampling Theory and Methods ", which has been translated by Dr. Mohammad Reza Faghihi, can meet the needs of the audience. Due to its theoretical content, this book is suitable for master's degrees in statistics, and as a result, familiarity with sampling methods and mathematics at the undergraduate level of statistics is necessary to understand its contents. The book originally was written by S. Sampath.
