The Regional Course on “Statistical Business Registers: Making better use of administrative data” was held in Tehran, Islamic Republic of Iran from 10 to 13 December 2017 (19 to 22 Azar, 1396) in collaboration with Statistical Institute for Asia and the Pacific (SIAP), the Statistical Centre of Iran (SCI) and Statistical Research and Training Centre (SRTC).
Mr. Evan Brand, from Statistical Institute for Asia and the Pacific (SIAP), Mr. Michael Russell Biddington from Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific and Dr. Kaveh Kiani, Faculty Member of SRTC were the course instructors.
The participants of the course were from Armenia, Azerbaijan, I.R.Iran, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kirghizstan, Mongolia and Tajikistan. The Iranian organizations involved in the course were: Statistical Centre of Iran, Statistical Research and Training Centre, Real Estate Registration Organization of Iran, Iran Chamber of Guilds, Institute for Management and Planning Studies, Post Company and Tax Affairs Organization.
The course aimed to provide a platform for demonstrating good practices and exchanging experiences in dealing with challenges and issues in the improvement, maintenance and use of statistical business registers.
