The rural production account is a collection of a comprehensive accounting based on the national accounts system model which allows a quantitative and systematic study on rural economic activities in a comprehensive and purposeful manner for a given period of time (usually one year). The production account in rural areas plays a significant role in rural planning, review of rural economy performance and analysis of rural facilities and potentials so that the goals of rural planning cannot be realized without using findings, indices and variables of rural accounts. In other words, as the national and provincial accounts system provides a comprehensive and structured accounting framework for compiling and providing economic data of the country and provinces, rural production accounts also provide the same framework in the rural area. Therefore, preparing and having such accounts helps to study and recognize the potentials available in the villages and allows for policy making, economic decision-making, or planning for rural development.
