The Second Specialized Seminar On” An Introduction to the Characteristics of Household Income and Expenditure Survey and Analyzing Its Results and Different Aspects” was held in the Statistical Centre of Iran (SCI) on 20 January 2018 in collaboration with the Deputy Head for Statistical Surveys and Registers of the SCI and Statistical Research and Training Centre (SRTC). The Seminar was attended by some of the Deputies of Statistics and Information of the Plan and Budget Organization in the provinces and the experts of Population, Labour force and Census Office of the SCI. The Seminar objective was to provide participants with the understanding of the technical and executive characteristics of the Household Income and Expenditure Survey.
At first, Dr Mohammad Nourmohammadi, Head of the Statistical Research and Training Centre, welcoming the participants, described the objectives of this Seminar. Then, Mr. Omid Ali Parsa, Head of the Statistical Centre of Iran explained the economic theories of household expenditures and their importance in the nation’s macro economy and expressed some points for the improvement of the Survey. After him, Ms. Shokoufeh Ghosuri, Group Leader for Household Economic Statistics, overviewed Household Income and Expenditure Survey and some of its results. Moreover, sampling method of the Survey was elaborated by Mr. Rahimi, Group Leader for Household Surveys. System used in Household Income and Expenditure Survey and ways for editing outliers were explained by Ms Mehrnoush Ghasemi and Asiyeh Abbasi. At the end of the Seminar, Q & A session was held in the presence of Mr. Alireza Zahedian, Deputy Head for Statistical Surveys and Registers of the SCI, Ms. Afsaneh Yazdani, Director General of Statistical Methodology and Sampling Surveys Office of the SCI and the Survey’s experts.
